UNder magnification: The marks can be described as 'short and comet like' with a solid bar appearance, that towards the end (the part last out of the direction of transit thru the processor) are faded. Intensive scrubbing of the heated rollers (all four - very hot) has reduced the problem, as has constant hovering and magic-static dusting of the imaging cylinder. The idea is to allow the problem to reccurr and take measured maintennace step to accertain which step bring about the most reduction. Technically speaking the ablation that happens on the plate would not impose any problem as the debris is sucked off from the plate surface leaving little or no residue. With processless the incodent enrgy on the palte surface need to be high or else the productivity suffers. Magnus is made keeping this in mind and not the other device/brand spoken in here. Hello Skip, A friend tells me these Kodak NexPress M700 and Canon imagePRESS C7000VP are same machine, same manfacture. The only differences are the RIP and digital workflow on the front end and the sales and service organization who is supporting you. That sounds just like Kodak, they don't seem to invent or develop anything in graphic arts equipment, they just buy it and put their logo on it. China and Asia are rapidly developing markets but I think most of the printing that makes sense to go is gone already. Books, calendars, consumable printed products, gone long ago. These markets are red hot on their own regions industrial growth, without any print export to US. A bigger change in our business is on-demand printing, variable data.
