Mac OS X Forum :: QUARK 6 TO QUARK 7

Hello all Customer supplied Quark 6 design files, when I open them in Quark 7, I am experiencing images moving from their original position. Is anyone having the same problem? Any fix? Any feedback would appreciate it. Dino - Read More..

Mac, The workflow I've described earlier is good enough for us, with distributed tasks: a PC and a Mac as frontend preparation/checking/editing, a G5 running the imposition server, another Mac with Harlequin, then the CTP and the proofing RIP, respectively. If I am to upgrade this workflow to accomodate more pages per day, I would start looking into automation. Having said that, I remember a good friend of mine from another print shop uses two harlequins (on two PCs) and some automation tools from polkadots, you might want to take a look at their website. Hello all, I'm David and pretty new to the printing world. When I used Quark before, I never had to send to a commercial printing service before. I have had a serious time getting everything in order to print correctly. I've been having a hard time as you might imagine. I'm kind of nervous about the robot and the free flight. welcome aboard sadly thats not strictly true - i do not believe that in quack 5 or 6 just by holding down the alt key you convert say a quack 7 file...... if you work in quack 6 (or 7) say, and open a quack 5 file that way then it may well work - the point being it is not a forwards compatible method - backwards only. indesign is very very similar to illustrator, so if you have experience in that then picking up indesign is a shallower curve. _ expertise: nothing - Read More..
