hi 4cadi, i agree with with you. but you need to becareful with software llicensing for convertion font & embed to pdf . for i know both are them inboth with pattern copy right & commercial software license. if not careful you get two fine for 20, 000USD. so i recommend you to read throught transtype pro software arrgement first. transtype no taking any respond you using font like that way. that is the reason recommend to having a font folio 11 first, or you can get linotype opentype libary . that will solve a lot of font problem and you also can get transtype for convert the which the font collection don't... - Read More..

Hi Joe, Glad to hear from you. Actually to answer some of the questions you asked, I am a Kodak client still, but that may be changing down the road. The other objective for 2008 is to transition to a chem-free plate. Kodak and Fuji don't have anything we're comfortable with, so we're looking at Agfa and Presstek. But that's another discussion for another post. On the new Komori you're getting, are you getting the KHS system? I was under the impression that Komo sends out technician(s) to fingerprint the press and get the CIP4 info working from the RIP to the console to the press. My boss has decided that CIP4 profiles for setting density and ink keys is the way for us to get more productivity out of our presses. To that end, he purchased a Komori PCC II Bladesetter for our Komori 528 Lithrone press. The press is a 1995 model, too old to have a networkable console. The Bladesetter is a device that writes ink key information to a magnetic-strip card that is inserted into the console of the 528. I'd like to know how someone is able to use a one bit tiff without the person or RIP knowing where it will be used. Thats flying blind, which makes no sense. Lets take a 4 color magazine at 120+ pages, drop the one bit tif in, and see how it flys. We'll waste lots of plates and lots of press time to find out that nothing is trapped, all the pages have solid blacks with no color behind it, and no bleeds or marks. i'm not sure how joe qualifies the fuji as the "best" plate (thats a sweeping statement mate) - but i would recommend you look into azura from agfa before you make any decisions whatsoever. it is a chemistry free (yeah just another buzz/spin word) plate - very good indeed. as for the front ends - well there's many - rampage, trueflow, all the scope stuff, xitron stuff, evo - which i kinda like but havent used - there's loads. budget will be a major factor - suppliers will allow you to spend any amounts you want! its down to setting a criteria - room or norm workflow, proofing, archiving, upgrade path, suppor... - Read More..
